Hump day once again, and I have leveled out, no loss from yesterday.
Had my Uke class last night, mostly review. only 6 of us there, and only 3 from the previous class. Kent did say that with every level increase, the numbers tend to drop a bit. Last night was pretty much review, to make sure everyone was on the same page. Next week we are going to begin delving into music theory, which I know absolutely nothing about. I am really looking forward to this block of classes, I think it is going to be huge in continuing to push me forward in my progression.
Got to play the Scepter last night, and I really like it, but I don't crave it like I did my soprano. I would love to have one one day, but, at least for now, it is not my next buy. Also played the Mya Moe, I really like the way it feels, but it is a resonator. In the hads of the likes of Lil'l Rev, they are an amazing instrument, but I just don't seem to gravitate toward them. For me they tend to be too heavy, and loud. So, at least for now, I prefer the typical acoustic Ukes. That may change as I progress, but for now, I really wish I could get my hands on a non res Mya Moe and see how that feels.
Breakfast:
1 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup raisins
1 apple
1 TBS Honey.
Coffee (black, no sugar)
Lunch:
Chicken stir-fry
Brown Rice.
24 oz water
Dinner:
3.5 oz seared tuna
3/4 cup Broccoli stir-fry
3/4 cup spinach stir-fry
The great thing about getting to try so many instruments is that you can find the right fit for you. The reason I purchased so many was basically to try them since they are not available here. In the end it cost me some money to do that but I tried to buy wisely and sell wisely- and only buy instruments that I know would sell.
ReplyDeleteRight now I have some great ukulele's that I have to learn to play. There is so much potential with them so I have to just hang in with these and keep getting better.
Indeed, I am very fortunate to have such a rich resource so close to home. It has helped me greatly in figuring out my likes and dislikes, and in learning that more expensive, isn't always better, at least for me.
