Today is going to be another one of those trial days. With all the Super Bowl food. I will do my best to be reasonable, but wings will be a must. While they are always best deep fried, I have found a reasonable way to do them, in the oven, and I no longer put butter in the sauce I make, so they end up being about as healthy as a wing can be. Now I just hope the game is at least good.
Breakfast:
2 Hard-boiled eggs
1 apple
Lunch:
Turkey & Swiss on Multigrain roll
Dill pickle.
I went to the grocery store and purchased fresh Perdue wings, cut them and baked them with tons of different Mrs dash seasonings. Baked them at a 400 F convection oven for an hour, turning them over at the 30 minute mark. Then, to finish them off I broiled both sides to get the extra fat off, yet make them extra crispy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to the store, I looked at all of the bottled BBQ sauces and choose the one with the purest ingredients and least salt. The I lightly tossed it into the baked wings. Got Honey BBQ
The chicken just came right off the bone. it was so much better than fried. Much more tender.
Sounds good, I do basically the same thing, but I bake them for the hour, then put them in the fridge overnight, coat them in my sauce, which is basically just franks hot sauce, and a little olive oil, and then toss them back into the oven at 425, and bake them again for about 30 min. they seem to come out pretty good, and as you say very tender.

ReplyDeleteHanging in there, but not a lot of good to write home about, I really need to get back on the blog anyway. Did lose 1.7 this week, but I have gotten hooked on those dang Tim Tams, and that is not helping.
