Well, I have been in a bit of a funk for the last couple weeks, and not sure why. I am seriously wondering if it had anything to do with all the "poisons" I indulged in during my Anniversary celebration. I stopped PoHoing, I stopped blogging, I even slowed down, but did not stop my Uke playing. I am just now feeling like I am back to normal.
I am at 216.7 this morning, 2.1 lbs down from a week ago, but still .6 lbs up from two weeks ago, but at least I am heading in the right direction.
Actually had a great Uke class this week. We are working on triplets. This is why I take the classes, I could never figure this out just by watching videos, but it is so simple when you have someone right there to show you what to do, and see if you are doing it right. NOT that I am any good at it, but I have the technique, now I just need to practice, practice, practice.
Had great talk with Kent at The Uke Academy. After class, he showed me his new gold label Kamaka Pineapple, circa the 50's ish. All I can say is wow, what a wonderful sound when I played it, and then he played it and it was spectacular.
Hopefully now I can stay in the swing of things, we will see
Breakfast:
2 Hard-boiled eggs
1 apple
Black coffee
Lunch:
Turkey & Swiss on Multi grain artisan roll.
3 baby dill pickles
1 Apple
Dinner:
Chicken Quesadilla
Amazing how our bodies slow down with all of those "toxins" but they are sooo delicious. glad to see you back on the program and back to blogging. I really wish I had a uke academy near me. I feel so frustrated that the video's though, great, aren't enough. Sometimes I really can't see what they are doing, and I need somebody to look at what I am doing and offer suggestions. You are lucky to have that available.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you here again, Mike.
It is indeed a wonderful resource, that I appreciate very much. I try very hard to support it any way I can, because I would hate to lose it.
DeleteGood to be back Ed, hope I can stay the course now.
Glad to hear you're feeling better. One day at a time.
ReplyDeleteEd, have you considered a Skype lesson? There'a a guy near here in Omaha that gives lessons, although I haven't tried it yet. Heard it's $1 per minute, for one hour, and he also gives you a lot of material. Then you schedule the next lesson for a month or two in advance.

Could say a lot of good things about the festival he put on last fall, but don't know him personally.
